The Admission Process

I still remember the day when I first walked into the campus, I still remember the outfit I wore, the weather, everything. It took me around 7 hours to reach Radaur, from Rewari to New Delhi and from there to Radaur. There was scorching heat, the tire of the bus got punctured which added to the journey time. Nevertheless, I was still in high spirits because I sort of started to like travelling by that time as I used to travel far of cities sometimes in even in different states to give entrance examinations. As soon as the auto dropped me in front of the college’s main gate, the security guards welcomed me in the humblest way possible, one of gave me a smile and other welcomed me in, it felt like they knew that I was coming there. In the hindsight I believe that 1 or 2 minutes I spent at the gate was very important for my mind as they mitigated my skepticism about taking admission in the college. Now as I was walking from the gate to the administration office, all negative thoughts

Why fear while science is here

Today my cousin who studies in 5th standard while walking in the balcony accidentally kicked a broom, he took a pause put his hand on the broom (which for obvious reasons had dirt on it) and moved it towards his head (typical gesture which most of us do when we drop a book). I asked him why he did that? He: Bhaiya because my mom taught me that. I asked again and said but why she asked u to pay respect to a non-living thing? I have no hesitation in writing his answer He: Because mom said the broom is considered as mata (Goddess) Here comes the important point, before educating anyone first it's important to educate your family. I told him: Bhai (brother), see the broom is a tool by which we eradicate all the dirt from our house with minimal effort hence it makes our lives easy. It's our duty to make sure it is in proper condition so that it can be used next time too, simple. Their is nothing Godly about it :) Taking care of something is equivalent to paying respect so u don'

The Slake stage

Forgive all before you go to  sleep , you'll be forgiven before you get up. – Lord  Krishna . This is one of those quotes which I guess is not discussed much unlike the quotes about Karma and Dharma . We have a tendency to do practices which are well followed, easy to pursue even if the outputs arrive really late. To people of my age I believe it would rather sound easy to do deeds without thinking about rewards or failures rather than going to bed on time. Humans when born in terms of consciousness have only two characteristics either we are asleep or we are awake. Let’s call them ‘Sleep stage’ and ‘Awake stage’ respectively. During Awake stage we live, experience and think whereas in Sleep stage we are oblivious. But as we grow a third stage also comes into significance in which we are perfectly conscious but we can’t do anything. The stage between Sleep and Awake or as I called it the ‘Slake stage’. Most of us would have experienced it generally at midnight. The duration w

The experience

What is the name of the feeling which arrives when you are finally going to execute something that you prepared with full dedication and effort? When I saw the scores that were displayed on the screen after the completion of my Graduate record exam (GRE) exam, for a moment I forgot that this is not a good score, but I just flowed in the emotion of satisfaction. I believe that if we do any task with dedication and at the same time remaining true to yourself then at the time of finale a satisfactory if not expected ending is inevitable. During the time when I was preparing for my GRE exam I always knew that I’m not going to score a high 330 or 320. Same happened with me 2 years back when I was preparing for JEE exams but what made me getting really upset at that time and not this time was that I didn’t accepted my reality during JEE but I certainly did accepted it 2 years later during GRE preparation journey . To decide whether you should be satisfied or disappointed with the resu

The realisation

This is a story of a world where desire of people got so big that they could get anything in a day and just with a click. The world in which each toddler had a phone and the families stopped talking because the meaning was gone. This was the great year ‘2020’. Though men made the internet but internet overpowered men, its purpose was to raise the bar of human intelligence but young and adult didn’t used it for that. More the knowledge stronger is the will but people used it only for Netflix and chill. As a consequence, the eyes of the bright grew squarer and the intellectual ability of people reached to a horror. Then came the virus, which made the people hide away, for many this was an opportunity to improve themselves right away. People who used internet only to watch the scrap now decided to give learning a chance. To their amazement the online libraries, courses and educational videos were great and to learn abou

The book called friendship

What happens sometimes is that while reading the book called friendship, if one of the two people tends to read the chapters faster than his partner than the gap between their psychological understanding of each other increases. The catch is they don’t realise it as it feels awkward to ask your buddy that ‘hey dude, how dedicated you are to this bond?’ The guy who is reading faster continues to do so while unconsciously thinking that his partner is reading at the same pace. This gap tends to increase with each conversation. One day when you feel agitated by some action of your friend than it all comes to you that, Yes, I may have been reading this ‘book called friendship’ faster than my friend. For a healthy friendship it’s important that the people involved must be on the ‘same page’. Their reading speed should sync with each other. What one doesn’t know should also be forbidden by other, this helps keeping things even. The guy who has reached farther in the book may feel upset

Binary life

Numbers 0 and 1 which are also regarded as binary digits form the basis of communication between machines in the globe. Just for the sake of introduction-if there is a phenomenon associated in nature and we assign a binary index to it, then index 0 will represent that it is not happening and 1 it is happening. What I have realised so far that as college students we tend to follow this concept in our lives too. For example, if a computer science student decides to learn a particular language then the student can be seen exhausting his/her complete energy on that thing. We are being taught from childhood that to achieve your aim you must give your 100% to it, no doubt it’s correct but in a particular phase of life there can be many goals to achieve. Like in the case of undergrad schools the focus should not merely be on academics one should also develop co-curricular activities and most importantly good health. As I have seen most of the studen
